Abstract

Summary

The analysis of the state of measurements of porosity coefficient and density of oil and gas layers executed by the neutron and gamma-gamma-ray logging tools in Russian geophysical companies is represented. A large number of geological and technical conditions are noted, in which measurements of the porosity coefficient of the layers using this equipment are impossible with guaranteed accuracy. The groundlessness of the application of two reference layers for constructing scale on the log of the neutron logging in oil and gas fields is shown. The list of standards of porosity and density of sand and calcite rocks created in Russia for the construction of calibration functions of neutron and density gamma-gamma-rey logging equipment is presented. There is the need to generate a more extended complex of formation porosity and density measurement standards of the oil and gas layers, crossed by wells with different diameter to create new methods of the porosity measurement of sandstone, calcite and dolomite layers using probes for typical geological and technical conditions especially for measuring while drilling.
