Abstract

Summary

This study has conducted a geological and geophysical approach to get an idea to determine hydrocarbon play and potency in Aru area. From geological approach, post mortem was conducted in order to analyse the output result and to evaluate wells in this area. All wells were also regionally correlated with chronostratigraphic and sequence stratigraphy methods, on E-W and N-S trend, in order to have a better understanding of each deposit distribution in the study area. Basin modelling was also conducted with regard to better understand the petroleum system in this area. In term of geophysical approach, this study conduct a detailed interpretation based on seismic mapping of horizon markers at intervals of Pre-Tertiary age Triassic and also identify the structure and pattern of faults in the study area.
