Abstract
Compared the method that using the travel time information of directed wave for tomography in cross-well seismic data with the method that using its dynamic information for attenuation tomography, the latter is more intuitive and sensitive to describe the lithological characters and fluid properties of reservoir than the former. However, the attenuation tomography also has some problems limited its application, such as often brings the false attenuation anomalies by noise interference and the resolution is insufficient. Thus, a new inversion technique is developed to get velocity and attenuation coefficient simultaneously from directed wave of cross-well seismic data. The new simultaneous inversion technique associate the arrival time in time domain with the amplitude attenuation for the same direct wave of cross well, which means more constraint conditions, and more noise immunity. The results of theoretical model and actual seismic data show that, the new technique can not only improve precision of velocity tomography, but also obtain the high precision attenuation tomography result, which enhance the ability of reservoir description and oil prediction for cross well seismic data.
