Abstract
Summary
Ghosts that produce notches will distort the data spectrum and affect all latter seismic processing results. Based on Green’s theorem, the receiver and source deghosting method is derived and discussed. It is a multidimensional wave theoretic data-driven method without requiring any subsurface information. In this abstract, the deghosting algorithm, especially the source-side deghosting algorithm, is presented and applied on synthetic and field data. Test results demonstrate that Green’s theorem deghosting method can remove effectively receiver and source ghosts to broaden the bandwidth of the seismic data and especially boost the low-frequency energy.
