Abstract

Summary

Asphaltene precipitation and deposition was one of the most important problem in oil industry and reduce the efficiency of oil recovery process. It is of great importance to know “when” and “how much” asphaltene precipitated by changing in pressure, temperature, and oil composition in the system. In this study, new experimental data were gathered for the amount of precipitated asphaltene in an Iranian crude oil with various solvent and dilution ratio and different contact time between oil and solvent by IP143 method. New scaling equations were proposed to predict amount of precipitated asphaltene during asphaltene precipitation process.
