Abstract

Summary

The second-order 9-point finite-difference scheme in frequency-space domain with PML absorbing boundary can not meet the actual needs because of the complex structure of the underground medium. We proposed a new method of seismic modeling based on the fourth-order 17-point difference technique which based on the fourth-order 9-point finite-difference of difference and a multi-axial nonsplit convoluntion perfectly matched layer (MCPML) absorbing boundary .17-point finite-difference modeling in frequency-space domain has high precision and weak numerical dispersion, and it is more suitable for seismic simulation under complex geological conditions. Comparing with traditional perfectly matched layer (PML) absorbing boundary,MCPML combines the advantages of nonsplit convolution (CPML) absorbing boundary and multi-axial perfectly matched layer (MPML) absorbing boundary to improve the absorption of wave field with large incident angle without increasing computational burden, meanwhile, the non-split method is easy to program. The method of this paper is applied to the Marmousi model to verify the effectiveness of it.
