Abstract

Summary

The findings of the work were used to reveal secondary changes which control the storage and flow properties of the identified reservoir units. Alongside with inherent primary depositional heterogeneity diagenetic processes predetermined the formation of several types of void space with a variation of properties. The presence of pores, fractures and a combination of fractures and vugs ranging from large to very small was established in the structure of the void space. The discovered correlation between facies heterogeneity, secondary changes and types of reservoir void space may be used to predict the spatial distribution of reservoir types subject to identified facies zones and to evaluate potential HC deposits in undrilled areas.
