Abstract

Summary

From observations, it is well known that acoustic disturbances created in rocks generate electromagnetic waves. However, there are few practical works dedicated to this electrokinetic phenomenon. One can mention the work of Mikhailov et al. (2000), which is related to the detection, in borehole condition, of the fractured zones and the determination of their porosity and permeability from the analysis of Stoneley acoustic and electrical waves. In this work, the processing and the interpretation of the acoustic-electrical logging data are used mainly to retrieve the permeability property of the intergranular reservoirs as suggested in Plyushchenkov and Nikitin (2009). This approach is also based on the analysis of the Stoneley acoustic and their associated electrical waves. For this purpose, an experimental tool based on an acoustic sonic logging has been constructed.
