Abstract

Summary

The paper considers a method for detecting thin contrast layers in a section on the basis of analysis of the shape of the spectral characteristic of the seismic response of the seismomechanical model. The task of determining several thin layers in a section can be solved using the approaches of full-wave inversion. A technique for solving the inverse problem using elastic full-wave numerical simulation is described. The recovery results show the applicability of the chosen technique for detecting several contrasting expanded inclined layers in a section based on an analysis of the spectral response characteristic in the low-frequency range of 1–10 Hz.
