Abstract

Summary

This study aims to analyse AVO effect at the reservoir levels using common receiver gathers from a walkaway VSP. We present a step-by-step approach for seismic interpreters to further leverage on their VSP data, beyond the common time-to-depth relationship. The result of this study is an analysis of the reflectivity, R, with incidence angle θ, as well as intercept and gradient values. Results show that we have varying intercept and gradient values for two orthogonal source lines, which demonstrates the influence of anisotropy towards the AVO.
