Abstract
In multimeasurement marine seismic acquisition, particle motion measurements are subject to different sources of noise that affect the measurement quality and may limit the recoverable signal content in further processing. We recently proposed different techniques that utilize the correlation of multimeasurement to effectively attenuate the noise. This work follows in the same vein. We propose a joint sparsity noise attenuation approach for multimeasurement streamer data to estimate the signal model in the time-slowness domain. Moreover, the proposed approach utilizes the relation between the pressure and its spatial gradients to estimate a maximum threshold that can be applied to the amplitude of any component of the full particle motion vector measurements in the time-slowness domain limiting the noise leakage while maximizing the signal protection.
