Abstract

Summary

The adaptive deghosting algorithm has proved very effective in handling noise and filling source and receiver ghost notches while honouring the measured data. We introduce a variation in the formulation of the adaptive deghosting problem to include the source signature wavelet in the forward model. This new formulation provides the same deghosting capabilities with a more robust solution in the notches, while simultaneously removing the source signature and bubble effects in a stable manner. We demonstrate this approach with synthetic data and confirm the findings with a field data test.
