Abstract

Summary

In recent years, the exploration of oil and gas in the upper member of Oligocene Lower Ganchaigou formation in Yingxi area of Qaidam Basin has made great discoveries. Yingxi is located in the northwest of Qaidam basin with greatly different capacity of single wells. Yingxi has diverse lithology, complex structure and pressure. It is difficult to realize the hydrocarbon accumulation model and reservoir prediction. This paper discusses the type of reservoir space, pressure coefficient, rock physical mechanics and tectonic simulation to establish the mechanism of hydrocarbon accumulation in Yingxi. Results show that the enrichment of oil and gas are jointly controlled by the salt formation, hydrocarbon source rock, the dolomite, the abnormal high pressure and multiple tectonic movement of the late in the study area. Through the lithology inversion, the relationship between mineral composition and elastic modulus, the distribution of abnormal pressure and prediction results of fractures, we establish a comprehensive methods to identify the favorable reservoir. Finally, we identified two enrichment zones and a potential zone in the study area.
