Abstract

Summary

The attenuation of multiples becomes more and more important as the accuracy of seismic exploration is developing. Multiples with strong energy will cause the false information in seismic imaging and interpretation. Compared with free-surface multiples, internal multiples are more complex in generating and propagating. This abstract will come up with a new method for the suppression of internal multiples. Parabolic Radon transform will be introduced into the prediction of internal multiples innovatively. Traditional virtual seismic event method will be combined with parabolic Radon transform and internal multiples will be predicted in Parabolic Radon domain. With this new idea, travel-time curves of internal multiples will be easily obtained, which will make it more convenient to use mathematical morphology filtering to extract the internal multiples. Numerical data and field data will be used to prove the effectiveness of this method.
