Abstract

Summary

In the present study, we analysed the residual component of gravity anomalies beneath the lower Benue Trough. The lower part of the Benue Trough suffered so much from volcanic activity than the other parts of the Trough. We estimated basement depth between 2.01 km and 3.73 km and shallow sources corresponding to intrusive bodies between depth of 0.45 km and 0.76 km from the approach of spectral analysis.
