Abstract

Summary

The aim of this work is to develop new technology of acoustic emission (AE) method of rockburst risk assessment in mines based on laboratory tests on rock samples and on local AE measurements under mining conditions. The team of authors is strongly motivated to build up a complex AE method by a rising request coming from the PhosAgro apatite mines, Kola Peninsula, Russia. Two AE parameters have been examined in this work – AE activity and b-factor. As a result AE hazard criteria based on AE activity and AE b-factor have been determined. The method has been applied and tested during mining controlling successfully.
