Abstract

Summary

We developed a method based on the concept of local frequency, which is an extension of the instantaneous frequency, to carry out spectral equalization of seismic datasets. This method is a cost-effective preparatory step that does not require a complete time-frequency decomposition. We demonstrate this method by applying it to the problem of registering datasets that were warped and have different frequency content.
