Abstract

Summary

Recent advances in acquisition and processing technology are an enabler for improving the resolution of our seismic images. In this paper we will be focusing on maximizing the bandwidth of the seismic data while retaining amplitude fidelity across all offsets/angle ranges with specific attention to what constitutes the seismic noise floor. In the presentation data from a marine deepwater environment will be used to demonstrate fundamental principles and the evolution of acquisition and processing workflows over the history of this project. In addition, opportunities for further improving resolution in the marine deepwater setting across the entire span of acquisition, processing and interpretation technologies will be identified.
