Abstract

Summary

The identification and interpretation of buried strike-slip fault have important guiding significance for oil and gas exploration. Therefore, taking the buried strike-slip fault in Bohai Bay Basin as the research object, through regional analogy, causes analysis of structural phenomena and study of plane and sections characteristics, it is considered that there is a LiaoXi strike-slip fault in LiaoXi area. The identification of buried segments of the LiaoXi strike-slip fault is carried out by using high wave number volume curvature breakpoint identification technology and structural-lithology stress field breakpoint identification technology. Guided by the “strike-slip transfer zone” model, the original extension interpretation model is changed, and the strike-slip interpretation model is used for the pattern interpretation, finally, the LiaoXi strike-slip fault has been found and implemented in Liaodong Bay. The W structure is found and its trap area of 4.5km2 is implemented. Through drilling, we first confirmed the existence of LiaoXi strike-slip fault. We found gas layer 16.8m and oil layer 40.8m in its trap. The discovery of LiaoXi strike-slip fault has established the three branches of the Tanlu fault zone in Liaodong Bay segment and enriched the research achievements of the Tanlu fault zone in the Bohai Bay segment.
