Abstract
Summary
For the construction of two new wind turbines near Lonsee, a town in Germany between Stuttgart and Munich, an exploration concept for the consideration of the regional karst problem was created. This concept included the application of gravimetric and refraction seismic methods. A joint interpretation of the results received with both methods classified the subsoil with respect to possible safety-relevant karst phenomena. The anomalies, identified with the geophysical investigations, were examined and mostly verified by subsequent drillings. With the results of the geophysical investigations the position of one turbine was considered as applicable, the position of a second turbine had to be modified.
