Abstract
Summary
The paper proposes a method for estimating the deformation-strength characteristics of soils based on seismic studies only. The analysis of seismic materials at various sites with very different geological structures made it possible to use, jointly, the speed of longitudinal and transverse waves, to estimate the coefficient of rock strength according to Protodyakonov, static deformation and elastic moduli. Thus, using only the results of seismic studies, we are able to determine the strength and static deformation characteristics of soils in natural conditions. In this case, the correlation coefficient belongs to the group of “very close.”
