Despite the significant development of drilling technologies (currently there is an opportunity to drill wells with a large departure from the vertical and significant penetration through the reservoir), there is a fairly wide range of issues related to the completion and monitoring of fluid inflow in horizontal wells. This paper presents the experience of LUKOIL-Nizhnevolzhskneft in the implementation of various completion and continuous monitoring systems for extremely long horizontal wells at the Y. Korchagin field located on the shallow shelf of the Northern Caspian Sea.
