Abstract

Summary

The Vrancea seismic zone (Romania) is analyzed in order to find spatial interconnections between the localization of earthquake epicenters and objects identified on satellite images – lineaments, brightness boundaries, and circular structures. It was found that the Vrancea seismic zone differs from many other seismically active areas since its earthquakes are controlled, mainly, not by linear, but by circular structures.
