Abstract

Summary

A controversial issue is described related to the formation of shear fault zones which identified the most promising regions in the Aptian, Albian, Cenomanian, and other Upper Cretaceous sediments in West Siberia (WS). A hypothesis of piston-like filling of Samotlor Field with hydrocarbons is proposed. The cause of tilted oil-water contact in the area of Krasnoleninskoye Field is described.
