In marine seismic surveys the data is acquired using end-on shooting geometry. The RTM method for end-on shot gathers often results in high-quality images, but occasionally, some dips may be missing or limited on the migrated section. In this paper, we employ the well-known principle of reciprocity in an efficient manner to showcase that a pseudo split-spread shot gather can be created using existing onesided offset shot gathers. Further, we demonstrate that using generated pseudo split-spread shot gathers, RTM imaging of dipping events lead to significant improvement when compared to using recorded end-on shot gathers. The effectiveness of the proposed approach was successfully tested using both synthetic and field data examples.
