Abstract

Summary

This study focuses on conducting a parametric analysis to evaluate the influence of different parameters on the producibility of CO₂-enhanced coal bed methane (ECBM) in bituminous coals. The interplay between sorption and diffusion is the main criteria during the transportation of gases and is needed to design accurate reservoir modelling or to execute efficient exploration, evaluation, and production of CBM gas reservoirs. In the present research work, Key geological and reservoir parameters are used to simulate CO₂ injection to analyze the characteristics of Coalbed methane reservoirs. Monte Carlo probabilistic approach is adopted by restricting the saturations acquired from CO₂ gas adsorption and CH₄ desorption isotherms of moisture-equilibrated bituminous coal. These uncertainty and sensitivity analyses would steepen the chances of parameters. Most critical parameters will be involved in modelling to obtain optimal solutions for gas recovery and injection.
