Carbon Storage Prospect Assessment – Efficiency, Capacity and Containment Risk

The regulations and evaluation methods for carbon storage exploration are currently developed. In this present work, we discuss assessment workflows for carbon storage prospect evaluation which are currently rolled out globally by the new Carbon Storage Industry.

When screening for carbon storage locations, the injectivity, storage capacity and containment risk are evaluated. In the following sections we present methods to assess storage capacity for traps and in “open aquifers”, and we discuss some elements of containment risk.
