Abstract
A 21st-century education has the vital task of preparing students for life under conditions of rapid global climate change, teaching them to monitor indicators essential for human life, such as air and water quality, emergencies, disasters and their consequences, etc. Students should understand how to predict the potential changes in these indicators and make effective decisions based on that. In addition to the historic disruption of COVID-19, Ukrainian education faces the challenges of the full-scale Russian-Ukrainian war today. The conclusions of this paper were drawn from the educational project – All-Ukrainian Summer School on the Basics of Remote Sensing, held in 2021 (before the full-scale war) and 2022 (during the war). Remote Sensing used in the educational cycle contributes to developing students’ climate literacy, critical thinking, and a more responsible attitude to the environment.
