Abstract

Summary

In the Precambrian of the Ukrainian Shield, there are several stratigraphic levels of conglomerate accumulation – four major levels and 2–3 minor levels. All of them belong to the Proterozoic. All levels are specific in terms of conglomerate composition, thickness, distribution/structural position, and ore content. The characteristic features of these levels of conglomerate accumulation allow them to be used as stratigraphic markers, and also allow predicting new areas of their probable distribution as potential ore-bearing objects.
