Abstract

Summary

The most important component of the mining industry of Ukraine is the extraction of iron ore, which is carried out primarily in the iron ore quarries of the city of Kryvyi Rih in an open method with the help of massive industrial explosions. Seismic vibrations from industrial explosions and weak earthquakes have much in common in their action. Their differences lie in the fact that during seismic oscillations from industrial explosions, the displacement amplitudes are less repeatable, that is, the total duration of the shock is shorter and the degree of attenuation is greater. And this is already becoming dangerous for the buildings and structures of the city of Kryvyi Rih, because the probability of their resonant oscillations increases, resulting in the displacement and speed of oscillations of individual elements of buildings increasing significantly. The experimentally registered vibration accelerations of the soil reach 23 cm/s2 and 25 cm/s2 along Sestroretska Street. When carrying out mass explosions in the quarries, the following distances must be taken: RΠp≥40, which ensures soil acceleration of less than 15 cm/s2. The analysis of the spectra of ground accelerations during the explosions allowed us to establish that the predominant frequencies are in the range of 1–50 Hz.
