Abstract

Summary

The development of the process of accumulating mechanical damage due to irreversible bulk deformation, which depends on the stress state, can be positive (dilatancy) or negative (compaction), leading to the destruction of rocks. At the same time, interpretive models for monitoring natural and man-made processes should, when registering geophysical parameters, ensure reliable control of the processes of generation and growth of cracks and pore stresses – shear, extension, and compression, which depend on pore pressure, when exceeding which the process of scattered destruction and accumulation of mechanical defects begins and the corresponding degradation of mechanical properties and changes in the structure of the fracture-pore space and filtration properties of the rock. Last year’s, a significant number of hydro technical structures in Ukraine were damaged or destroyed. This makes it necessary to estimate the residual resource of hydro technical structures. For this purpose, an automated system for estimating the residual resource of hydro technical structures was developed. The use of a sensitive acoustic emission method makes it possible to establish the main features of crack development in the stress-deformed state of rocks and verify the adequacy of the results of the developed automated system.
