Abstract

Summary

The paper considers the results of monitoring studies of the oil-contaminated territory within the city of Myrhorod and the prospects and directions for solving the environmental problem of eliminating the accumulation of oil products in the first permanently existing horizon of free gravitational waters from the surface of the earth.

The authors have developed a monitoring algorithm and the main criteria for choosing biotesting methods for determining soil phytotoxicity. According to the results of the conducted monitoring studies, lenses of oil products of different volumes were determined in all observation points. However, the regulatory requirements for the content of oil products in groundwater were exceeded: the first observation point – 24 MPC; the second observation point – 27.7 MPC; the third point of observation – 14 MPC. The highest content of oil products in soil samples, according to the results of research, was determined at the second observation point - 280 mg/kg. In the first and third points, the content of oil products was slightly lower - 150 and 120 mg/kg, respectively.

The conducted experimental studies on determining the levels of soil phytotoxicity in three observation points indicate the presence of residual effects of oil products on the soil ecosystem. Soil phytotoxicity level 3 (moderately polluted) was determined in all observation points.

To restore the ecological state of technologically polluted soils, it is necessary to provide a set of measures, including search and pumping out of technological hydrocarbon deposits with subsequent biological reclamation of these lands.
