Abstract

Summary

The assessment of the content of the relevant indicators of the quality of the Kaniv Reservoir surface waters made the conclusion regarding instability in time and space possible, which indicates natural and anthropogenic pollution and leads to potential problems with obtaining tap drinking water.

One of the most important tasks of today should be to reduce the content of organic pollutants, phosphorus, and nitrogen in water by establishing coastal strips with the aim of protecting water bodies from pollution and clogging, and establishment of sewage treatment technology. Further harmonization of the water legislation of Ukraine with the EU will contribute to the prevention of diseases of the population.
