Abstract

Summary

Remote sensing data and multispectral indices are often used in combination with ground-based measurements to better understand and monitor groundwater dynamics, assess the impacts of land use changes, and develop sustainable groundwater management strategies. In this study three spectral indices (NDVI, NDWI, NDWI) were investigated at buffer zones (R=2 km) around observation hydrogeological wells of the San River basin study area using Landsat-5, 7, and 8 data and Google Earth Engine cloud geoinformation platform. The developed application allows to build the spatial models of multispectral indices for the surrounding area of the selected borehole, as well as to compare changes in indices for a given period of time.
