Abstract

Summary

The report presents the results of research related to the study of an emergency geological event. This specified event consisted in the manifestations of mud volcanism elements, namely gas and mud emissions and subsidence of the earth’s surface, in the construction area in the village of Rozvadiv, Lviv region. The most likely assumptions seemed to be a connection of the event with the drilling of a gas production well located at a distance of one kilometre from the deformation area. However, geophysical studies carried out using the method of the natural pulsed electromagnetic field of the Earth and gas-soil surveying refuted this hypothesis, since no connection was found in the physical fields that accompanied the drilling to the emergency event. Presumably, the reason for the simultaneous disturbance of the objects is the increase in seismic activity, which has been manifested recently in the fault zones of the Carpathian Mountains and the Carpathian foredeep.
