Abstract
In the process of forming the casing of oil and gas wells, especially those with intervals of flow rocks, a number of problems arise that are the result of geological and technological factors. First of all, the complexity of solving such problems is associated with the formation of large cavities in the process of deepening the well, loss of stability of its walls, and complications during the running and cementing of casing strings. As drilling operations uncover rocks with different lithological composition, physical and mechanical properties, the nature and degree of their saturation and the type of fluids, and different thermobaric conditions, unstable and unbound rocks are encountered alongside stable rocks where the wellbore may not be fixed for a long time, which directly affect both the well construction process and the duration of operation. Despite the significant research results, the processes of deformation, displacement and fracture of rocks have not been fully investigated, and a number of new, previously unknown and unaccounted-for circumstances and patterns of deformation and stress state of the rocks surrounding the well have been identified.
