It is well known that Kurbnesh-Kukes-Prizrzen (KKP) fault zone in Albania is recently a seismically active region from the dense earthquake activity. In this study, a detailed statistical analysis was realized by considering the dense current earthquake activity along the KKP fault zone. For this purpose, the best-known statistical seismicity parameters such as magnitude completeness Mc-value, Gutenberg-Richter b-value, were mapped. The b-value within this area was found to vary between 0.8 and 1.04. These results show for some anomaly areas of low b-value along the KKP fault zone. Thus, the regions with smaller b-value, may supply preliminary results for the evaluation of earthquake potential. These analyses identify precursor phenomena before the major earthquakes in the KKP fault zone.
