Abstract

Summary

Analysis of some features of seismotectonic activity of Curraj i eperm-Ragami fault zone are presented in this paper. In northern part Shkoder-Peje take place the Curraj i eperm-Ragami tectonic fault zone. In 2005, the Rragami moderate earthquake of 10 July hit Northeastern Albania with intensity I0=VI-VII degree (EMS-98). During the last fifty years , several moderate earthquakes have occurred in this transversal fault zone. The instrumental seismicity period of time 1964–2023 have recorded 1187 earthquakes (0.5≤ M≤ 4.8). The analysis of focal mechanisms demonstrates a prevalence of normal faulting, combined by a minor strike-slip ecomponents with NE-SW extension in northeastern Albania. The goal of this study is to determine tipology of seismicity, the source parameters of the earthquakes in order to shed light on the seismotectonics of this fault zone
