Abstract

Summary

We present a geochemical study of a potential site for a CCS pilot project in Thailand. While this study is part of a larger and more extensive CCS storage site scale assessment, our paper focuses on laboratory tests and geochemical modeling (both static and dynamic) to evaluate the potential risks and effects of chemical reaction between injected CO2 and the host and caprock formations. This represents the first study of its kind conducted in Thailand.
