This study addresses the environmental issues of noise pollution caused by the construction and operation of offshore wind farms, which have a significant impact on marine life. Recognizing the need for more precise assessments due to the socio-economic effects on fishing communities, we employed a 3D acoustic wave equation approach. This method significantly refines existing noise impact assessments by incorporating often-neglected factors such as pile diameter and geophysical properties, thereby improving the accuracy of simulating noise propagation from pile driving. We applied this improved assessment method to a hypothetical scenario along the coast of the East Sea in South Korea, suggesting its utility for future real-world applications. The study suggests that these advanced simulation techniques can provide more reliable data for environmental impact assessments.
