Abstract

Summary

This paper discusses the utilization of an ultra-deep resistivity tool in a drilling campaign within a deepwater turbidite Field S. The campaign includes two producer wells targeting Reservoir A (shallower), one producer targeting Reservoir B (deeper), and a water injector targeting Reservoir B. Drilling the deeper Reservoir B first with the ultra-deep resistivity, mitigates fluid contact uncertainties in Reservoir A, enabling better well placement for the wells targeting Reservoir A. By optimizing well placement, our goal is to maximize oil recovery. Additionally, this information enhances our understanding of fluid movement in this field.
