Abstract

Summary

K-Field is a large gas field located 125km offshore Sabah, deposited within a deepwater turbidite channel-lobe complex. Main challenges in this field are the large overlying gas cloud, complexity of fold thrust belt and fluid distribution where the legacy seismic has been a challenge for reservoir characterization. The working static model built in 2014 was due for an update, as global and local modifiers were needed for all six producer wells to obtain a fair history match. In 2019, OBN multicomponent seismic was acquired mainly to improve the seismic imaging below the shallow gas zone. This paper discussed how the 2019 OBN seismic improved K-Field reservoir characterization and aided the team for resource management and future well planning purposes.
