Abstract

Summary

This paper discusses the multi-disciplinary approach and continuous reservoir monitoring effort in managing complex Carbonate production by leveraging cased hole, open hole, and core data. It will further advance understanding of the complex carbonate reservoirs over time and deepen insights into distinguishing between genuine and artificial saturation changes within the reservoir. Furthermore, this paper discusses in detail about the existence of regions with high permeability streaks, which are susceptible to water breakthrough and the factors that will further magnify the impact. Subsequently, it discusses about the mitigation efforts to minimize the effect of water production through high permeability streaks.
