Abstract

Summary

Larger than 30,000km2 in size and with only 13 exploration wells drilled, the North Luconia province in deepwater Sarawak is one of the last remaining deepwater frontier exploration area in Malaysia. Within the 2A PSC, a working and effective petroleum system can be demonstrated as a result of thorough dry-hole analysis of key offset wells and regional integration of the subsurface data.

Among the multiple structural leads and prospects that have been identified within the PSC, the Kertang prospect - at around 200km2 in size, remains one of the largest undrilled structures in Malaysia with the potential of discovering a sweet gas discovery that is multi-TCF in size.
