Abstract

Summary

Seismic interpretation is becoming more powerful with new advancements in auto-picking and Relative Geological Time Volume (RGT) interpretation. Unfortunately, using this information to build reservoir models is still complex structurally and stratigraphically. Focusing on the stratigraphy and its utilization for reservoir modeling, we propose a new constrained forward-stratigraphic modeling method to close the gap between seismic, geological interpretation, and reservoir models. Results from three examples of heterogeneous, stacked, or low- amplitude reservoirs are described to demonstrate the range of suitable applications.
