Abstract

Summary

The Algerian Basin is a frontier area penetrated only by two nearshore exploration wells. We applied a workflow of seismic reprocessing and interpretation followed by a geochemistry review and subsequent petroleum systems modelling. Five seismic lines served as input for 2D PSM modelling. This study shows promising results for postulated pre-Messinian source rocks. Its expulsion timing has been tested against identified plays within the pre-Messinian.
