Abstract

Summary

This study describes a method for performing simultaneous inversion of post-stack seismic time-lapse data. A forward model has been developed that can model travel-time and amplitude changes simultaneously. The forward model is parameterized by the monitor-to-baseline velocity ratio (qV) and density ratio (qρ) as the independent variables. Additionally, a workflow to solve the inverse problem has been developed. The method is applied to a synthetic dataset demonstrating that, under idealized conditions, it is possible to simultaneously invert for the travel-time and amplitude differences and recover the relative velocity and density without additional prior information.
