Abstract

Summary

TotalEnergies has executed the Lacq CO2 Capture and Storage demonstration pilot in South West France. 51 000 tonnes of CO2 were captured at a boiler in Lacq with oxycombustion technology, transported through a pipeline for injection and storage to the depleted Rousse reservoir in Jurançon, south of Pau between 2010 and 2013. It was followed by a three year post injection surveillance period. Lessons learned are provided for storage component, with a focus on store characterization, modelling, monitoring and public outreach.
