Abstract

Summary

This work presents the results from a geohazard risk assessment undertaken in a multiple gas-condensate field integrated development located offshore Rakhine Basin, Myanmar. Geohazard risk is a site-specific challenge for deepwater pipeline development, which requires site specific survey data and effective collaboration between multi-disciplinary experts. Integration of new geophysical dataset with interpretation of advanced testing performed on geohazard cores helped to better constrain process uncertainties of some of the identified hazards. The aim was to understand and quantify the risk associated related to recent sedimentary processes and assess the state of activity and possible recurrence of geohazard-related events. Recommendation and mitigation actions for the project development were also provided.
