Non-invasive geophysical surveys were applied in an area that, during the Spanish conquest in America, was occupied by the house and workplace of the armourer of the ancient city of Panama Viejo, the first city founded by Europeans on the Pacific coast of the American continent in 1519. To understand the past of this zone, an area of 1450 m² was established where a low-frequency multi-coil electromagnetic and magnetic surveys were developed, and another area of 423 m² largely overlapping with the first one where the 3D electrical resistivity imaging was developed. The results revealed a number of important anomalies that may be associated with foundations, walls, and sections of outcropping bedrock that was used for metalwork, as well as possible modern buried structures from the time of Panamanian military occupation during the last century.
